6 tips til å lage personlige morsdagsgaver hun kommer til å elske

6 tips for creating personalized Mother’s Day gifts she will love

Scented candles and coffee with a personal message are an excellent Mother's Day gift. Here are 6 tips for writing sweet and funny messages that Mom will love.

The three notes

Scented candles typically have three notes—the top note, the heart note, and the base note. This works perfectly as a message for a personalized scented candle, where you choose three things about your mother you want to highlight. We recommend choosing:

1. A lovely quality (e.g., warm laughter, great hugs, lots of care)

2. A typical quality (e.g., always drinks Pepsi Max, wears shorts all year round, or bakes at least 3 times a week)

3. An unexpected/funny/charming quality (e.g., can weld, is amazing at CrossFit, or is by far the worst loser when playing Monopoly)

Light this candle...

Scented candles are meant to be lit, and you can play on this with the personal message. Whether it's something she should treat herself to, something that is frustrating, or something you want to remind her of—this is a great way to create a unique gift that hits the mark.

For example:

- Light this candle, fill the bathtub, and get out the cheese grater. You deserve it!

- Light this candle and know that we miss you and appreciate you incredibly.

- Light this candle next time someone tries to mansplain how you should raise your baby.

Scent of...

Want a freer format, but still want to play on the fact that it's a scented candle? Then just start with the scent of...and continue with the compliments.

For example:

- The scent of an amazing woman who inspires us every single day.

- The scent of the most beautiful person in the world.

The flavor profile

If you want to give a personalized coffee to Mom, you can play with a message inspired by the flavor profile that typically appears on coffee packaging.

For example:

- Flavor profile: Long nights, lots of care, and definitely no personal space.

- Flavor profile: Baby bliss, sleep deprivation, mysterious addiction to coffee lattes.

- Flavor profile: Early mornings, handball practice, and the nicest person in the world.

The thank-you message

Simple is often best. Whether you make a scented candle or coffee, a thank-you message always works.

For example:

- Thank you for everything you do for us. We love you all the way to the moon.

- We are so lucky to have you as a mom. Thank you so much for everything wonderful you do.

- By far the best person in the world. Thank you so much for being you.

The hidden message

Scented candles and coffee work perfectly as a canvas for other messages, whether you want to announce another gift, share that you are pregnant, or propose (it has happened before).

Some examples:

- Eau de Syden: Light this candle and look forward to us going to warmer climes. Departure March 6.

- Eau de Grandma: It's true. You have now been promoted from mom to grandma. (And you are going to be the best grandma in the world).

And if you are completely stuck, you can always send us a message and we will gladly help you with the message so you get the perfect Mother's Day gift.
