Wax & Wine has blown out its last candle.

The workshops are over. More than 500 of you came to Bislett, poured wax, wrote questionable labels and drank wine from glasses we definitely washed. Thank you.

Will they come back? Maybe. Probably not. We never say never, but we do say "no" fairly often.

You can still make your own candle. You write the text, we do the rest. The wine is on you.

Questions about the workshop

Does Byvoks still hold candle-making workshops in Oslo?
No. The Wax & Wine workshops in Bislett are paused, and there are no new dates. More than 500 people attended while they ran. You can still make your own candle at byvoks.com: you write the text, we make the candle and ship it.
Can I make my own candle with Byvoks?
Yes, online. The Custom candle is a 200 g soy wax candle in a matte black container, with your title and text on the candle and the box. It costs NOK 499 and is usually ready in 1–3 days. Make yours here.
What can I write on the candle?
Whatever you want, as long as it fits on the label. Names, dates, inside jokes, a quiet insult. If you're stuck, email hjelp@byvoks.com and we'll help with the text. We did that at the workshops too.
What do the candles smell like?
A neutral, mild scent. Every candle smells the same, so the only decision is the text. They're vegan, made from soy wax with no paraffin, and burn for about 50 hours.
I was looking for something to do in Oslo. Now what?
The workshop is paused, but you can do the same thing from home: order a custom candle for your friends, a bachelorette party or whoever you were bringing. Want to take Oslo home? We have candles named after neighborhoods in East Oslo and West Oslo.
Do you run private workshops for bachelorette parties or team building?
Not anymore. Private workshops are paused too. For work, we make candles and coffee with your company name or logo for the whole team, see employee Christmas gifts.
